Observation on child raising

I love to find God (and always do) in watching my children as they're growing up. They are teens and college aged now, with one almost teen. Seeing how He's made them, formed them in personality, gifts, intellect and talent, and what He's calling them to do is so cool. I love to see it in little daily things and in their friendships with unbelievers or hurting people too. They get concerned about someone, start praying for them and suddenly things start to happen. It's called child-like faith....it's called believing and trusting....so simple. Why do we make it so hard?

It is assuring to me that God is leading them in their own journey and I don't have to guide them as much because they see it happening and take notice.

God's ways are so much more than our human hopes for our kids.

Proverbs 3:1-6 from The Message:

 Good friend, don't forget all I've taught you;
take to heart my commands.
They'll help you live a long, long time,
 a long life lived full and well.

Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty.
Tie them around your neck;
carve their initials on your heart.
Earn a reputation for living well
in God's eyes and the eyes of the people.

Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don't try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he's the one who will keep you on track.

My eldest dd, who is 12, was telling me about a friend of hers who's been doing a few weird things at school lately. I didn't really have any suggestions about how to help, except to say "Well, we can pray for her" to which she replied "I already have been". YES!
